The Landscape is a genre of fine art in which the main subject of the picture is wild nature or the nature transformed by man to a certain extent. The landscape is a relatively young trend as compared to the portrait, battle or religious painting. The rapid development of the landscape in all its diversity has made it one of the most popular and favourite genres of fine art.

Now at our turbulent time that the relationship between man and nature is in crisis, and the perplexed people search for ways to bring civilisation and environment closer together, the landscape art appears to be a wise teacher. Both in the works of the past as well as in the best canvases of today, we can see Nature enter human consciousness and turn into a symbol, lyrical meditation or alarming warning.

The Landscape

A wide range of opportunities natural landscapes offer allows each master to develop his/her individual style. Depicting the phenomena and forms of the natural environment the artist expresses both his own attitude to nature, and its perception by contemporary society. That's why the landscape acquires emotionality and significant ideological content.
